How do I say this without sounding incredibly harsh? Leave Nickelodeon immediately. Run for the hills. Take your baby Mariah voice and never look back. Don’t get me wrong, I as a fan am actually grateful to Nick for helping to get your name and voice out there, but now that you are pursuing a music career for big people, in other words no longer catering to tweens and teenie boppers.
You have every potential to become one of the most recognizable artists of our time, but you are squandering said potential by working for a network who does not really seem to notice how great you are. I found myself in a state of utter confusion every time Tori showed up to save the day on Victorious, because being honest, it was quite evident that Cat, you, have the better voice and vocal range. To be perfectly honest, you should have been the centerpiece to that show anyway. Victoria Justice is a good actress in her own right, but her voice in no way, shape, form, or fashion compares to yours. To be rather frank, the name of the show should have been Catherine or The Cat Show or something.
One of the major reasons as to why I need you to withdraw yourself from Nick is because people who started out marketing to children and teens face unrelenting judgement , i.e. Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, and Justin Bieber. Also, people have a tendency to get typecast and have trouble reaching an adult market. I want people to take you seriously as an artist with unequivocal talent. No one will judge you for leaving Nickelodeon by the wayside; feel free to take the nearest escape hatch.
