[UPDATE]: Scott Adkins Apparently Up For Batman Role – Fans Take To Wikipedia Page

A few days ago, I wrote a post about recasting Batman. I talked about who’s in the running for the role, who should be in the running for the role, and who should stay far, far away from the role.

As of today, however, it is being reported that actor and martial artist Scott Adkins is not only up for the role, but he may have already auditioned for the role. Various sites including Comicbookmovie.com report that Scott Adkins took to his Facebook page and his Twitter to report the audition. However, the post is now unavailable on both sites.

Since I’m skeptical of every damn thing, I googled Scott and even looked at his Wikipedia to confirm all of the rumors and reports. What I found, however, was hilarious. On Scott’s page, at the bottom of the Life and Career section, there is a humorous paragraph that claims that Scott has apparently changed his name to Bruce Wayne and basically assumed the life of the titular fictional character. I suspect it to be the shenanigans of very excited and passionate fans. I have no idea how long the paragraph will stay up before the Wiki-police take it down, but if I were you, I’d head down there and check it out myself.

Just in case they took it down already, here are several pictures:

In closing, if Adkins does get the role, I wouldn’t protest too much. I like going with lesser known actors. Less baggage that way.
