Let’s be real for a second:
Disney has straight up kept news about Star Wars VII on ultra-la-mega lock-down. Aside from most of us knowing that J.J. Abrams will direct, that the movie is set to be released in 2015, (as many, many other movies that year), and that Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher are all set to reprise their roles as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Leia Solo/Princess Leia (respectively), we actually must admit that we don’t know much other than that.
We don’t know sh*t.
However, a couple of rumors have been creeping up lately—I’m look at you Latino-Review. One asserted that Emperor Palpatine might be returning, (via “force ghost”), and now the Latino-Review is claiming that Ewan McGregor‘s Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to revisit us and the Star Wars crew in the same manner. They added that he may even be gunning for his own standalone movies that would possibly take place between already existing Star Wars episodes.
I don’t detest the idea.
The only question now is whether or not he should return.
Granted, most people like Star Wars. I even like Star Wars. On the other hand, if you make the mistake of asking most about the Star Wars prequels, you might be interested in what you hear. Sure, we all can’t agree on why exactly we hate them, but the fact remains that we agree that we hate them.
Point. Blank. Period.
Don’t believe me?
Then you should casually try to start up a discussion about Jar-Jar Binks in front of even casual Star Wars fans and run for the hills as they explode right in front of you.
Regardless of that, I can say that in a prequel series that was plagued with bad characterization and bad writing, McGregor’s Kenobi was rather refreshing to watch and had a somewhat decently developed arc. So, I wouldn’t say “hell no” to the idea of him returning.

What do you think? Is McGregor’s return a no or a go? Sound of below?
