In recent news, a couple of rumors have circulated about the oh-so top-secret Star Wars VII. Such rumors have included the return of characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Emperor Palpatine and even the mention of some questionable casting that might hypothetically include Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron.
I really hope that rumor is bogus at best.
Anyways, though the film’s official release date hasn’t been set yet, Badass Digest and Screen Rant have reported that Disney and Lucasfilm might have their sites set on a December 2015 release date. The date would most likely be somewhere in the middle of the month. This apparently contradicts comments that were made at D23 by Disney CEO Alan Horn. Horn had indicated that the film would be released in the summer of 2015.
If you ask me, it would make a lot more sense to move Star Wars VII to a winter release.
With films like The Avengers: Age of Ulton, Terminator 5 (or the reboot? Who the hell knows.), Independence 2, Pirates of the Caribbean 5, Assassins Creed, the summer of 2015 is set to look like a f*cking Gladiator meets The Hunger Games showdown.
There will be hits. There will be smashes. There will be misses. And there will be flops.
Sh*t will get serious.
