[RUMOR]: Elizabeth Olsen Up for the Role of Scarlet Witch in The ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’

If you’re following casting new closely for movies like X-Men: Days of Future Past, you know already that there are no plans for Scarlet Witch to appear in that movie, despite Quicksilver being kinda of shoe-horned it.

Weird, right?

I was under the impression that you don’t get one without the other, but whatever.

I don’t need this.

Despite such news, Joss Whedon has made it super clear that he has much use for both Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.

There was much speculation around possible Quicksilver pick Aaron Taylor-Johnson, which seriously looks like it’s all but confirmed, and possible Scarlet Witch pick Saoirse Ronan.

Earlier in the year, many were saying that Ronan was “being used as a design template” for Scarlet Witch and Ronan sounded really interested in working with Whedon (I mean, who wouldn’t? The man knows what he’s doing?

However, according to recent reports from Bleeding Cool, some sources are claiming that Ronan was offered the role, but eventually turned it down. So, instead, apparently Marvel has set their sights on locking down rising star Elizabeth Olsen. Olsen has projects like Godzilla coming up next year and it was even rumored earlier in the year that she might be assuming the role of April O’Neal in the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

That obviously didn’t happen, with the announcing of Megan Fox and all.

There are no words.

Anyways, if both Olsen and Taylor-Johnson end up being confirmed, I’m convinced that it’d be a good thing. They’re both extremely talented and all. And Disney/Marvel have proved so far that they are good at not f*cking up important casting decisions.

Also, Whedon does plan on tweaking the origins of both characters because of obvious contractual reasons between Disney/Marvel and Fox. No one really knows how that’s happening. Some initial reports announced plans for to omit the siblings connection to X-Men villain/anti-hero Magneto and change their Eastern European descent. On top of that, it’d probably be necessary to change their origin of their powers too, for the same reason.

Such plans obviously have a lot of people scratching their heads since Quicksilver is going to be in both X-Men: DOFP and The Avengers.

Let’s hope that both incarnations/adaptations are nothing short of awesome?
