And…..Ben Affleck is Officially the New Batman

Yes, you read that right.

Ben Affleck will be playing Batman in the yet-to-be-named upcoming sequel of Man of Steel. The film also finally got a release date. It is set to hit theaters July 17, 2015.

Here’s a statement from the Warner Bros. Facebook page on the matter:

We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics’ most enduringly popular Super Heroes (sic), and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some,” Greg Silverman, president of creative development and worldwide production for Warner Bros., said in a statement posted to the Warner Bros. Facebook page. “His outstanding career isa testament to his talent and we know he and Zack will bring new dimension to the duality of this character.”

NO!!!!!! WHYYYYYY!!!!????

I can’t. Brb…crying forever.

I get that Ben Affleck has immense talent and all. He directed both Argo and The Town for WB, (he clinched an Oscar for Argo too), and he’s acted in awesome films like Shakespeare in Love and Good Will Hunting.

However, I don’t understand why Affleck is WB’s choice. I don’t see Batman when I look at him.

Call me partial or bias, but Daredevil is still fresh on my mind.

I went there.

I am that asshole.

As far as I’m concerned, Affleck is a better director than an actor.

Anyways, somewhere deep down, I hope I’m proven wrong in my doubts, but as of right now, I am no longer all that excited about the MOS sequel. I am really disappointed in this casting decision.
