We can’t let
Batfleck Batman have all the fun, now can we?
Anyways, the powers that be down at Marvel have decided to be even more awesome and release a large group of new stills that give us a peek at various characters, especially Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki and Christopher Eccleston‘s Malekith.
Here are the images below (courtesy of Empire Online):
Thor and company are looking good!
Besides that, director Alan Taylor recently teased the general public about what direction this movie will going and I admit that I’m very interested in what he had to day:
“You know, we are killing Asgardians in this movie. It turns out immortality isn’t all that it was cracked up to be.”
Taylor, you had my attention when I saw that Game of Thrones was on your resume.
On top of that, if you were also curious—like myself—about how the f*ck Thor got back to Earth in The Avengers (and how he’d be getting to Earth in this movie), producer Craig Kyle was awesome enough to give us some revealing details. Apparently, there is actually an explanation and it makes sense. Here it is below:
“Asgard at the beginning of the first film was at a time of peace. Now our guys have been fighting for over a year, constantly. It’s a time of war.
“When the Bifrost was broken at the end of the first film, Odin had to conjure a lot of dark energy and go through a lot of personal sacrifice to try and get his son back to Earth. And it was a one-shot deal. If Thor didn’t succeed, without the Tesseract he couldn’t have got back again. And in our film, finally the Bifrost has been rebuilt, but during that time, when the cops were largely cut off from the rest of the universe, you had miscreants that came in from outside the Nine Realms, pillaging and destroying and causing havoc. So that’s what our guys have been doing now – trying to put all these fires out across the Nine Realms.”
I just got 97654323456 times more excited for this film.
And THANK GOD someone actually took the time to explain this to everyone. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out in the film.
So, if by some weird chance, you didn’t see the amazing trailer the first time, here it is below (If you’re also itching to see it a 349343500923th time, this is also for you):
Thor: The Dark World will be hitting theaters November 8, 2013 if you’re in the us and October 30, 2013 overseas.
