Justin Timberlake Wants to Play the Riddler

You read that right.

As per usual.

After a riveting performance at this years VMAs, Justin Timberlake stopped by the Jim and Kim Show to discuss his various projects and exploits. Timberlake eventually made it to the subject about his Runner Runner (an upcoming movie) costar Batfleck Ben Affleck and had good things to say about the recent news that Batfleck Affleck was cast as Batman:

Ben Affleck as Batman, I like it. I worked with Ben last summer and I’ve seen his process. I think he’s a brilliant filmmaker. I think he’s an extreme talent, so he could surprise a lot of people.”

It’ll probably take more to convince me, Justin.

No, Justin. Not even this is enough. But…it’s pretty damn close

After that, the powers that be on the Justin and Kim Show decided to grill him about whether he wanted to play Robin. To which he laughed and said:

Not a chance in hell. I ain’t playin’ Robin. I have no aspiration to ever be a superhero in a movie. Now [a] VILLAIN! I’ll tell you the villain I want to play more than anything because I grew up loving Batman, funny enough, is the Riddler. The riddler is my favorite villain.”

When asked why, he added:

The Riddler was like a sociopath. He was proper crazy. So if I’m gonna play crazy, I wanna play proper crazy.”

He then topped it all off with: “I’m ready. The Riddler. Gimme a call.”

I can’t help but chuckle at the thought of this. I can understand J.T.’s reluctance to touch any iconic superhero (see the Batfleck backlash, including from myself). However, his wish to play a villain—The Riddler aka Edward Enigma in particular—is an interesting one. I’m not 100% how that all would go, but I’m pretty sure that it would be a sight to behold.
