Ariana Grande’s “Yours Truly” Debuts

Today, Ariana Grande‘s debut album Yours Truly was released, and is already number 1 on the iTunes charts in over 30 countries. Grande’s fans have been long awaiting this album, and the reception has been phenomenal. She has been given rave reviews, and I personally haven’t heard anyone express a negative opinion about this musical masterpiece, as of yet.

The album carries a feel of 90’s Pop and R&B, the best era for both genres, (if you ask me), through its production and vocal arrangement. Upon listening to songs like “Almost Is Never Enough” and “Honeymoon Avenue” you are thrown back into time where music meant something, and more importantly, made you feel something. While taking in “Almost Is Never Enough”, I could feel my own heart breaking, and ” Baby I” made me feel like I was experiencing a fun, joyous love, and I’m not even thinking about being in a relationship right now.

I feel as though with this album, Grande is truly making her mark on the music industry, and is establishing herself as more than just a singer, but a vocalist who may one day stand in the likes of Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. Yours Truly has all the makings of a Grammy award-winning album, and hopefully that is what lies ahead. It is quite refreshing to see a teen artist put together a piece of work that transcends all ages, and adheres to more than just an adolescent crowd.

If you have yet to hear the album, know that you’re missing out, and should absolutely give it try.
