If you’ve been counting down just like me, you know that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be gracing our televisions in exactly three weeks on September 24.
Anyways, recently, the cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. decided to pay a visit to the people at The Chew (a talk/cooking show) and dish (ha ha, see what I did there?) about their upcoming series. They also brought a new featurette that shows off previously unseen footage and even gives us a slight peek at the dynamic that we should possibly expect from this newly-formed team lead by fan-favorite Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg).
Here’s the video below:
It looks and sounds awesome, right?
Moving on, the footage above has obviously made me super interested in the main characters of the series. I mean, we obviously have Coulson already, who’s a badass, so there’s not much to say there.
However, I’m liking the vibes I’m getting from the rest of the cast. Brett Dalton’s Agent Grant comes off as a pretty stern, but intelligent guy, but I get the feeling that he feels as if he’s got something to prove. The potential superhero envy that Dalton teases that his character might be harboring is also a notable thing to look out for.
I mean, who hasn’t wished to be a superhero at one point in their life?
As for Ming-Na‘s Melissa May, I don’t have much to say about her. She looks badass in the trailer and I get a really snarky vibe from her, but other than that, I’ve got nothing. Although, I’m curious as to how her character will be used and developed during this series.
I could also say the same for Agents Leo Fitz (Iain de Caestecker) and Gemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge). I don’t get much from them individually in the trailer, but it does appear as if they’re team chemistry will be off the charts…which will be another thing to watch out for.
Chloe Bennet as Skye tops off the main cast and appears to be one of those characters that will juxtapose the rest very well. Even though she’s not as experienced as the rest of them, Skye appears have a great sense of humor and possesses extensive people skills. I’m calling it right now that she might in fact be the heart of this team.
In closing, I’m really excited for this new series and I hope it can deliver the level of quality (aside from a few movies) and entertainment that Marvel’s Cinematic Universe has. I’m also crossing my fingers for a couple of superhero-ed cameos from time-to-time. They don’t even need to be Avengers. Marvel honestly has a whole wealth of characters to choose from and I’d be happy to see just about any of them.
Basically, I have high hopes for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
