Fifty Shades of Outrage: New Petition Arises in Wake of Recent Casting Announcements

Welp.

I think we all knew this was going to happen.

Lies. You knew it was coming.

Yesterday, fellow writer, AJ Parkerposted about the outrage surrounding the recent casting announcements for Fifty Shades of Grey. In light of that, an online petition (via Change.org) sprang up rather quickly and nearly 23,000 people have already signed it.

Um.

Isn’t Change.org supposed to be used for more important things? Like world hunger? Civil rights? Etc, etc?

*Sigh*

I am with you, my friend.

Moving on, the petition has called for the removal of Charlie Hunham and Dakota Johnson as the titular characters and instead calls for the installment of Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel in those same roles.

Here’s an excerpt of the petition:

“Matt Bomer is the PERFECT DESCRIPTION OF CHRISTIAN GREY AND ALEXIS BLEDEL IS THE PERFECT ACTRESS TO REPRESENT ANASTASIA STEELE and if THEY ARE NOT, NOBODY WILL BE And I read the whole trilogy and I can assure that Matt is the perfect actor for this movie and Alexis too. So please PLEASE, all of the GREYsessed and Bomerettes in the world NEED those actors. They always will be for us the Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. WE CAN DO ANYTHING GUYS, ANYTHING.”

Man.

That was painful to read.
