Adam Sandler Gets Serious Again; May Join New Drama ‘Men, Women, & Children’

When discussing Adam Sandler, the conversation can usually go two ways. Some people are inclined to discuss his older and better movies like Happy Gilmore or Mr. Deeds and etc. Other people are inclined to talk about his recent, not-as-good movies like Jack and Jill, the very unnecessary Grown Ups 2 and all things related.

Adam. What are you doing. Adam. STAHPPP!

Adam. What are you doing. Adam. STAHPPP!

However, it is being reported that Adam Sandler is apparently about to be cast in a more serious project called Men, Women, & Children. Sandler isn’t exactly a stranger to serious movies (i.e Spanglish and Reign Over Me), but it has been a while since he’s done one.

Anyways, Deadline reported earlier that Jennifer Garner, Cameron Diaz, Sandler, and Rosemarie DeWitt are all in talks to join Jason Retiman’s aforementioned film that stems from the novel of the same name, which was written by Chad Kultgen. Here’s a small synopsis of the book/proposed film (Courtesy of Screen Crush):

In Men, Women & Children [Kultgen] explores the sexual pressures at work on a handful of troubled, conflicted junior-high students and their equally dysfunctional parents. From porn-surfing fathers to World of Warcraft-obsessed sons, from competitive cheerleaders to their dissatisfied, misguided mothers, Kultgen clicks open the emotionally treacherous culture in which we live—in his most ambitious and surprising book yet.

I take it Sandler will be playing one of those “porn-surfing fathers”?

No. You shut up.

Moving on, while the world waits on more news about that, keep your eyes peeled for Sandler’s new romantic comedy The Familymoon, which is currently filming (Drew Barrymore is also involved in the project).
