2013 CMA Awards: Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves Lead Nominations

Before I roll out the nominations list, I have a couple of things to say:

First of all: Why in the f*ck is Taylor Swift still getting nominated for stuff at the CMAs?

Taylor Swift is a pop artist now. A POP artist. She dropped (maybe dropped is not the word, but I can’t think of anything better right now) country music at the wayside a long time ago. Just because she happens to be featured in a country song (you’ll see down on the nominations list below) doesn’t make her a country singer. That would be the equivalent of Justin Bieber doing a song with an R&B singer and getting nominated at the BET Awards or something.

Exactly.

Moving on, newcomer Kacey Musgraves is holding her own against Swift when it comes to nominations. Both entertainers have received 6 nods.
