‘Breaking Bad’ Spinoff Prequel ‘Better Call Saul’ in the Works

First of all, please enjoy the following GIFs that illustrate how I am feeling at the moment:

Anyways, though many Breaking Bad fans are sad that the show will soon be coming to an end, I don’t think any of them were asking for a prequel series from AMC, but it’s happening.

Whether you like it or not.

Yeah…I can’t either.

Moving on, Deadline first reported that the spinoff series, which is tentatively titled Better Call Saul, has been given the go-ahead at AMC and it will serve as a prequel to the story of Breaking Bad protagonist, Walter White. Right now, everyone is scrambling to get a hold of the rights to the upcoming show (Netflix in particular).

The show will apparently be an hour-long and might even allow fan favorites such as Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) and Mike (Jonathan Banks) to return.

Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan previously chatted about how a Saul series might go, though he was initially on the fence about whether it’d be an hour-long or not:

As you can imagine with Saul Goodman as a character, a show like that would have to have plenty of humor to it. But also because he works for some pretty scary clientele sometimes, there’d be a bit of drama in it as well. We’re trying to nail that down. As of yet, we haven’t completely figured that out ourselves” (Screen Crush).

I’m not a super fan; so, I may be being an asshole as usual when I say that this show is unnecessary.

But, I want to hear from you guys! Are you excited about such news or do you think the series might be unnecessary like I do? Let me know in the comments below!
