Linkin Park’s New Single Has Arrived…With a Catch

Linkin Park’s has a new single (that features Steve Aoki) out called “A Light That Never Comes”. However, if you want to listen to it, it’s going to come at a price.

What is this price, you ask?

Well, if you want to hear the single, you’re going to have to mosey on down to their new 3D Facebook game called LP Recharge. Once a bunch of fans and players unlock the official version of the song, the song will will be made available to radio stations and it will be streamed (on-demand style) exclusively through Xbox Music for two weeks. People who access it through the Xbox service will also be bestowed with behind-the-scenes footage that chronicles their team up with Aoki.

You could say that this is all pretty interesting, especially in light of Jay Z‘s recent release of his video “Holy Grail” on Facebook. Of course, Lincoln Park is obviously one-upping him with the mention of this game and all, but both reveals/releases are proving to be game-changing.

Welcome to the music of the future.

It’s not quite that serious, but okay.

The song will also be featured on their upcoming album, Recharged, (which arrives in stores on October 29, 2013). Other than that, the band has yet to release a track list for the album.

So, once again, if you’re up for the challenge, head over to Facebook to play LP Recharge.

Also, as a bonus, if you’re a too impatient to play that game, you can hear a live version of the song below:

Happy gaming.
