Well.
This is awkward.
So, a plethora of movie-related news has been released since my last post yesterday and as always, I will be attempting to cover all of it most of it.
Here we go:
– Kelsey Grammer Joins The Expendables 3
If you were gunning for Nicolas Cage to join this movie, you’ll be semi-disappointed. But it’s cool, because Kelsey Grammer (Cheers, Fraiser) will be lending his talents to the growing cast of The Expendables 3.
According to Deadline, Grammer is thisclose to reaching some sort of deal. When that happens, Grammer will be appearing in a role where he plays “Bonaparte, an ex-mercenary who helps the Expendables in their mission” (Screen Crush).
With a name like “Bonaparte”, I’m assuming that we’ll be seeing good things.
Moving on, expect to also see Grammer in the upcoming Transformers movie (Transformers: Age of Extinction) where he will be playing the villain.
(The Expendables 3 will be hitting theaters August 15, 2014).
– J.K. Rowling Has All the Control
…Over the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie, that is.
As I recently reported, WB has already green-lit this project and now it is being reported that J.K. Rowling will not only be penning the script, but she also has complete creative control over the project too.
This means that absolutely no one can doctor, polish, or rewrite the script with out her explicitly-stated (or written) permission.

I see you! Go ahead, J.K.
Such wide-ranging control is usually reserved for higher up (and long-standing) talents like the Coen Brothers, Peter Jackson, Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino and such.
However, if anyone has earned the right to pen this project, it is Rowling herself. And besides, she knows her own universe better than anyone.
I already can’t wait to see this film.
–The Good Dinosaur is Pushed Back to 2015
Okay Pixar.
Let’s add yet another movie to the year of 32489257 movies (or as I will soon begin to call it, the Moviepocalypse).

Oy.
Moving on, Pixar recently announced that its film, The Good Dinosaur will be pushed back to 2015, effectively taking over Finding Dory’s current date. The film was originally set to debut May 30, 2014, but it will now enter theaters November 25, 2015.
This effectively leaves 2014 with no Pixar movie, which is odd since they’ve released one every. single. year since 2006.

I don’t know, find another movie to watch? You figure it out.
Anyways, the recently moved Finding Dory will now swim into theaters in the summer of 2016 and another Pixar movie, Inside Out, will also be debuting 2015 (June 19, 2015).
So, if anything, Pixar will be making up the 2014 absence in 2015.
Ed Catmull (Pixar President) defended such changes and had this to say about the matter (thanks to LA Times): “Nobody ever remembers the fact that you slipped a film, but they will remember a bad film. Our conclusion was that we were going to give the [dinosaur] film some more time.”
– Toy Story of Terror Release Teaser Footage
It’s been over a month since I reported anything on the upcoming Toy Story television special, Toy Story of Terror and now, there’s finally some awesome footage to look at.
Like previously stated, Toy Story of Terror will follow the titular toys as they spend the night in a creepy ass hotel during road trip. When each of them start disappearing one-by-one, however, sh*t becomes real.

My thoughts exactly.
Toy Story of Terror will also be using its star-studded cast that includes Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Don Rickles, Joan Cusack, Wallace Shawn, Kristen Schaal, and Carl Weathers.

It’s going to be awesome.
Anyways, I’ll stop yapping and let you see the footage for yourself:
(Toy Story of Terror premieres October 16, 2013 on ABC at 8pm EST).
