Is Marvel’s Agent Peggy Carter Getting a TV Show?

I guess this is the year week of the TV spinoffs?

Anyways, I previously posted about Marvel doing more “One-Shots” for the amazing Agent Peggy Carter from Captain America: The First Avenger.

However, Deadline has recently reported that Marvel apparently has more than “One-Shots” planned for Carter and that a TV Show may be in the works. Deadline noted that Marvel is being ultra-la-mega secretive about the potential project, but let me remind you of what director Louis D’Esposito said to Screen Crush about future Agent Carter spinoffs:

Listen, we know this isn’t the last Peggy Carter story, we want to tell more because she’s so good. I remember when we first met her to play the role of Peggy Carter, and I was with Joe Johnston and we were in London and you try to keep a poker face, but I couldn’t hide and Joe couldn’t hide our feelings. “She’s the one! She’s the one!”

Moving on, I’m not sure how to feel about this yet.

Skepticism, thy name is Lex Luther.

Personally, though I’m slightly curious as to how this would work as a TV show, I’m not sure how such material would stretch over a season or a series of seasons.

With that being said, I definitely, definitely think that a Peggy Carter movie would work. I mean, a potential film could follow her as she climbed the secret agent ladder despite people underestimating her because she’s a woman (especially since this is all taking place in the 1940s). Additionally, we’d most likely get a peek at the early days of S.H.I.E.L.D, especially considering the awesome ending that was Agent Carter’s “One Shot” (you can view it here).

Whatever the case, however, I’m glad we’ll be seeing more of her.
