[RUMOR]: David Oyelowo and Michael B. Jordan Up For Roles in Star Wars VII

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd, the rumors shan’t cease.

Yeah He is. But I’m still compelled to report these things. *Sigh*

Moving on, in light of reports that Saoirse Ronan had recently met with J.J. Abrams and Benedict Cumberbatch was still involved in Star Wars: Episode VII, the Latino Review is reporting that stars Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station, Chronicle) and David Oyelowo (Lee Daniel‘s The Butler, Lincoln) are apparently circling the project.

Apparently, Jordan already met with J.J. Abrams and Oyelowo read for an unknown part.

I wish Disney/Lucasfilm would just confirm something already!

Anyways, if either stars end up joining the franchise, it would be a really good thing and they would definitely be welcome. I say this because of their impressive filmographies so far. Jordan recently turned in a critically acclaimed performance for Fruitvale Station and he’s set to star in the next installment of the ‘Rocky’ franchise (basically a spinoff, which should be our buzzword of the week) called Creed and it was rumored months ago that he was being eyed for the role of the Human Torch in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot helmed by Josh Trank.

As for the likes of Oyelowo, he also had an excellent turn in Lee Daniel’s The Butler and turned in graceful performances in films like Lincoln and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. He can also be seen in the upcoming film Interstellar, which is being directed by the magnificent Christopher Nolan.

If either of them hypothetically come on for the project, I expect them to most likely be playing either Lando or Mace Windu‘s son. Or they could be completely unrelated.

Who the hell knows?

In closing, as I always say in these things, this is still a rumor; so take ALL of this with a grain of salt.

We’ll update you as soon as we know more.
