E.G. Daily Auditions for “The Voice”

On day two of the hit talent show, “The Voice” there was a plethora of talent gracing the stage. Many of the vocalist had something unique to offer their potential mentors, as well as, their potential fans. Still, there was one who left me in complete disbelief, and that someone was E.G. Daily, otherwise known as my childhood.

When they first mentioned her name I thought it sounded familiar, but I wasn’t completely sure, and that’s when I heard it, the voice of Tommy Pickles. If by some chance any if you are puzzled, Tommy Pickles was the main character in the phenomenal cartoon, “Rugrats”, which dominated the lives of children throughout the 90’s and early 2000’s. Daily is also the voice behind Buttercup in “Powerpuff Girls“, baby Mumble in “Happy Feet“, and a host of other characters, but she has always had a passion for music, and has even released a few albums in the past, and she decided that “The Voice” was the perfect platform to restart her career in music.

Her song of choice was “Breathe” by Faith Hill, which she sang beautifully, and left the audience floored, all the while garnering the attention of two out of the four judges, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton. Christina was the first to recognize her, though she couldn’t quite put her finger on it, and Daily revealed that she had played the role of Dottie in “Pee-wee’s Big Adventure“. Then, to top it off she did the voice of Tommy, and all the judges, with the exception of Blake, began to fangirl immediately.

Both Adam and Christina vouched for Cee Lo, stating that she had to work with him, mostly because of her work in voice acting, which solidified her decision to join Team Blake, as she wants to be known for her singing ability, and not lean on her work as a voice actress.
