It looks like Joss Whedon and company’s work really paid off because their dramedy, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. opened to some kickass ratings Tuesday night.

But seriously, congrats to them.
11.9 million people (basically 12 million) tuned in to watch Coulson and his b*tches Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and it served to be TV’s best drama debut in four years (ever since V). The show also did very well in the 18-49 demographic, scoring a 4.6 and taking down powerhouse NCIS, (who had a 3.4).
Fox was hit the heaviest by Agents of S.H.I.E.LD’s debut. All four of its comedies (from Dads all the way to The Mindy Project) dropped a chunk in ratings from their previous episodes. NBC’s The Voice was happy to contend and raked in a respectable 14 million people.
Let’s hope things pick on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D so it can keep such strong ratings.
