Because Disney/Marvel’s marketing never ceases (even up until opening night), two new posters for Thor: The Dark World characters Fandral (the Dashing) and Volstagg (the Voluminous) have finally hit the web. The two warriors form two-thirds of The Warriors Three (the other third being Hogan [the Grim]).
In the first poster, we see Fandral (who will be played by Zachary Levi this time around) wielding his sword against an enemy force. To be honest, I’m very impressed with the fact that Levi’s Fandral looks pretty similar to Josh Dallas‘ Fandral (Josh Dallas previously occupied the role, but could not reprise it due to his obligatiosn to Once Upon a Time [ABC]. This in itself is super ironic in that Levi was originally supposed to play the role, but could not due to his own obligations to Chuck [NBC]. Contractual obligations. Contractual obligations EVERYWHERE). In the second poster, we see Volstagg (Ray Stevenson) swinging his mighty axe as he fights off a hoard of Dark Elves and ultimately looks exceedingly badass while doing it.
You can view the posters below:
Now we only need posters for characters like Hogun (Tadanobu Asano), Algrim the Strong aka Kurse (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), and maybe even (possibly) Frigga (Rene Russo)…if she stays around long enough.
(Thor: The Dark World hits theaters November 8th, 2013).
