TV News From Around The Web: ‘Sherlock’, ‘Arrow’, and More

Man.

The TV world has been quite busy recently. Not only have we had to say goodbye to some  shows already (so long, Lucky 7), but a couple of shows have received the big “go ahead” (aka a full season order) like The Blacklist and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (I’m not sure how I feel about the latter one). On top of that, season 2 of Arrow finally premiered last week and the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special is getting closer and closer.

So, with all that news out and about, you must be wondering what exactly else there is to report for this week.

And on that note, please sit back and enjoy the latest on TV news:

Sleepy Hollow is doing wonderfully well, was recently renewed for a second season (already), and has recently featured it’s first look at John Noble‘s “Sin Eater”.

Whatever the f*ck that means.

My face when I read “Sin Eater”.

Moving on, you can check out the latest trailer for this season, which features John Noble (Fringe) as a “Sin Eater”, below.

It’s no secret that SNL‘s lack of color is starting to really bother people these days, especially where black female comedians are concerned. However, Kenan Thompson haphazardly defended SNL’s recent casting decisions.

Thompson acknowledged the issue and chalked it up to the fact that it’s “just a tough part of the business. Like in auditions, they just never find ones that are ready” (TVGuide).

Seriously? That’s ALL you got?

So, that’s all good and well, but I’m convinced that you can only say such things (meaning: use such excuses) for so long.

Seth Gabel will be returning to Arrow as Count Vertigo and some new looks at characters Black Canary, China White, and Bronze Tiger have emerged.

My, my, my.

Arrow has been super busy ever since it premiered last Wednesday. Not only will Fringe Star Seth Gabel be reprising his role as Count Vertigo, but a new clip has emerged showing off characters like China White and Bronze Tiger.

ALL OF THE YES!

You can view the clip below:

You can also check out the episode promo below as well:

China White and Bronze Tiger will definitely be appearing in tomorrow’s episode, (which has been titled “Identity”). You can read The CW‘s official press release on the episode below:

DC COMICS’ BRONZE TIGER AND CHINA WHITE WREAK HAVOC ON THE GLADES — Oliver (Stephen Amell) finds out the medicine that is being sent to Glades Memorial is being hijacked by thieves. Without an influx of supplies, the hospital will close. Roy (Colton Haynes) attempts to stop the thieves, but he fails and is arrested by Officer Lance (Paul Blackthorne). Oliver gets into a heated battle with China White (guest star Kelly Hu) and her new partner, Ben Turner, AKA the Bronze Tiger (guest star Michael Jai White), over the supplies. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) makes plans to catch the Arrow, and Thea (Willa Holland) gives Roy an ultimatum.

Also, feel free to check out some photos (that feature Black Canary) from the episode below:

In other news, Sherlock may possibly be getting a fourth season.

And I’m using the word possibly with extreme caution.

I’m not! I swear!

Moving on, according to Radio Times, Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch took the liberty of commissioning a fourth series themselves…according to Steven Moffat. Moffat had this to say about the subject:

We had to inform the BBC that Martin and Benedict had commissioned a new series. They signed themselves up. They both announced that they were carrying on — so that’s good. Benedict, at some red carpet event somewhere, said he was carrying on forever. Martin, at another one, said, “Yep, series four is happening.”

BBC hasn’t said anything about it yet, but if they end up giving series 4 the green light, I know plenty of Sherlock fans that will die happy.
