Movie News From Around The Web: ‘Batman vs Superman’, ‘Pacific Rim’ and More

Okay, so unlike the last few days, we have been bombarded with movie news today that includes Terminator 5Ant-Man, and so many other things.

But without further ado, please sit back and enjoy the madness as we roll out the movie news before you:

So, if you f*cking loved Pacific Rim like I did (seriously, that movie is like an Anime wet dream. It’s so hard not to like!), you should be happy to know that Guillermo Del Toro is working on the sequel.

I would be so beyond pumped for this movie if it happened!

There is a catch to that however. Del Toro is still waiting on the green light from Warner Bros. Though the film initially had an underwhelming debut in the US (I still have NO idea why), it went on to perform very well overseas; so there may be hope for a sequel after all.

Here’s a tidbit on what Del Toro had to say about the possible sequel:

We are writing the sequel. Travis Beacham and I are writing, so that is active. The decision to green light or not, that’s definitely above my pay rate.

To me, what was beautiful and flattering was how people saw the movie not once or twice but three, four times or more. People that love it, love it with great passion. So I would love to continue telling stories about that world.”

No kidding.

I pre-ordered that sh*t the day I saw it.

I have no shame, neither do I have any f*cks to give either.

Alan Taylor, the potential (he basically is already) director of Terminator 5 may be using Nolan’s Batman Reboot as the inspiration behind Terminator 5.

Say whaaaat?

So even though Alan Taylor’s basically been announced as the director of Terminator 5, there hasn’t been a press release yet. Because of this, when talking to Slash Film about the coming Terminator film, Taylor spoke—hypothetically—about how he would approach the film, citing Nolan’s level of reverence and respect for the Batman films:

And for [Christopher] Nolan to come in an say ‘I respect this material so much I’m going to take it up to *here,* that’s a great inspiration.’ I think any version, whoever is directing Terminator, would be very respectful and serve the first two and probably feel a bit more freedom by the end.

That’s what I like to hear.

(You can read more about that here).

You remember that whole “third candidate” mention when news about Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd being in the running for Ant-Man emerged?

If you do, that’s good, because here’s more Ant-Man-related news for you.

According the amazing people down at Screen Rant, Jamie Bell may be the mystery third candidate. And as if that’s not enough, Superhero Movie News is reporting that Rashida Jones might be up for the part of Janet van Dyne.

Internet say whaaat?

So far, Marvel overlord Kevin Feige has been coy about such rumors, but if I were you, I would stay tuned!

Josh Brolin may be taking on a lead role in Jurassic Park 4

After passing up on Batman vs. Superman and appearing in the upcoming remake Oldboy, it is being rumored that Universal may be wanting to lockdown Brolin for a lead role in Jurassic Park 4.

Hmm. Brolin would be a nice choice.

The cast already includes the likes of Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, and Nick Robinson. So, Brolin would definitely be a welcome addition.

Hans Zimmer is still really uncomfortable about scoring Batman vs. Superman.

But Hans…I love you.

About a month or so ago, Zimmer voiced his discomfort with the idea of working with Batman again for the upcoming Man of Steel sequel and so far, he still maintains this position.

Though this makes me very, very sad, I would totally understand if he decided not to return.

Granted, I wouldn’t like it, but I would understand.

And speaking of
Batman vs. Superman, if you’re itching to see sneak peeks of the movie already, you can check out some new jerseys here:

Let me explain.

So, there’s apparently going to be a football game scene featuring Gotham University and Metropolis State University in Batman vs. Superman (a la The Dark Knight Rises style) and recently, images of some jerseys from the respective universities found their way to the web.

You can check them out below:
