Marvel Cinematic Universe Update: ‘Thor 2’ Unveils Over Thirty Stills and Promises Post-Credit Scenes; Rocket Raccoon is a “Lonely”, “Tortured” Soul

There is no doubt that Marvel is super, super busy these days. However, as the masters of their own (brilliant) advertising, Marvel is still not slowing down with the promotion of any of its movie (specifically Thor: The Dark World) and as a result, we have some juicy (and quite informative) information to share with you as of late.

Is it, Rocket Raccoon fans? Is it really?

Rocket Raccoon Will Be Complex

Recently, in addition Vin Diesel (aka the quintessential hype-man) sharing footage that includes his dutiful (albeit humorous) preparation for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Chris Pratt recently spoke to Access Hollywood about a certain anthropomorphic raccoon and explained that he’s way more complex than he seems:

You think it’s a cartoon character, but it’s not, it’s a very real creature

…[Rocket Raccoon has been] tortured his whole life and no one else likes him, so he’s lonely and he’s angry and it’s like, [there are] all these elements [to the character] …

You sort of forget about that, you wouldn’t think about, [and] hopefully will come to life. I think it will and that’s why they hired a really good actor to do the role.

This should make fans of the character very happy, as it seems that director James Gunn is trying his very best to do the character. Add this development with the fact that Gunn is also making use of rotomation technology (with a real live raccoon) to create Rocket Raccoon for the movie, Rocket Raccoon fans should get ready to have a good time.

Are you ready?!

On top of that, Pratt expressed his excitement about Rocket Raccoon’s voice:

I could not be more excited that Bradley Cooper is voicing Rocket Raccoon. It’s a great character. It’s probably the best character in the movie, just because it’s not what you would expect.”

There you have it, Rocket Raccoon fans.

Yup. You can now die happy.

Thor Will Have Two Post-Credit Scenes

Moving on to the subject of Thor: The Dark World, not only does this movie hit theaters in less than three weeks (November 8th; and two weeks if you’re overseas…which I’m super jealous about), but Marvel continues to entice its audience and the general public to come and see it.

And on that note, let’s talk about post-credit scenes.

As of right now, Thor: The Dark World has already started its screenings for a select few journalists and Screen Crush was apparently able to speak to one of them. Though they didn’t reveal anything super specific (thank God; I hate spoilers), they did disclose that the movie will not only have post-credit scene, but it will have TWO post credit scenes.

…Please Standby.

Granted the last post-credit scene most of us saw was in Iron Man 3 and though I am not shy about my reservations about that movie (but actually), I did enjoy the post-credit scene (probably more than the movie itself) and it featured a welcome face and was fairly humorous. Therefore, this excites me.

….Yup. This is me right now.

In addition to that, the last time we saw more than one post-credit scene in a Marvel movie was in The Avengers. So, if such news is any indication, we should not only expect big things from Thor: The Dark World itself, but we should also expect some interesting reveals/teasers in this post-credit scenes.

If you’re still grasping for hints on the aforementioned scenes, Screen Crush reported this tidbit from an undisclosed source online:

Mid – Foreshadowing [sic]. End – Shreddies.”

Not sure what the f*ck “Shreddies” means, but whatever.

Thor: The Dark World Unleashes Over Thirty New Bad-Ass Stills and Fifteen Minutes Worth of Footage

Oh my Lord. I wasn’t ready for this.

Anyways, the Thor: The Dark World news doesn’t stop there. In addition to the post-credit scene announcement, The Lebanese Cinema Movie Guide (presumably via Marvel) has unveiled over thirty new stills for the movie and a good number of them feature Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who will be playing the dual role of Algrim and Kurse. This is awesome news for fans that are familiar with the character, since there previously hasn’t been too much revealed or shown featuring him (he didn’t even get his own poster).

Personally, I exceedingly pumped to see him in this movie and in upcoming movies like The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete and Annie, especially after his turns in things like LOST.

You go, man!

On top of the new stills, there’s also 15 minutes worth of footage to enjoy. Such footage entails a respectable amount of explosive battles and plenty of Loki/Tom Hiddleston…among other things. You can check out both the stills and the footage below:

(Thor: The Dark World will be decimating theaters starting November 8, 2013).
