‘Arrow’ Unveils First Look at Colton Haynes as Arsenal

Thank you, Baby Jesus.

But in all seriousness, it has been a wild ride for Roy Harper (Colton Haynes). After being forcefully injected with Mirakuru this past season in Arrow, fans saw Roy go ham on literally everyone. In fact, his rampage was so bad that it resulted in the death of a cop (which is something that I hope the show addresses, even as he transforms into Arsenal). That being said, the conclusion of season 2 saw Roy finally being freed from the clutches of the Mirakuru and making use of his own bow and arrow as he helped take down Slade’s super-powered army (although, I am still curious as to how this dude learned how to shoot an arrow, seeing as all of his training sessions with Oliver—all 2.5—ended in disaster. But that’s none of my business).

Moving on, with season 3 on its way and in light of the impending Comic-Con weekend, it would seem that Roy Harper is getting an upgrade. Entertainment Weekly recently rolled out a new picture of the aforementioned character, complete with his trademark red.

You can view the picture below:

Before season 2 ended, fans saw Oliver give Roy his red mask right before that epic season finale battle. Now that there’s a full-fledged costume involved, along with the brand-new title of Arsenal, it is safe to say that Roy is being turned into a badass.

Hopefully, this results in Haynes not having to play “Constipated-Face Roy” anymore.

Like seriously.

The dude only has one emotion most of the time: PISSED THE F*CK OFF.

Other than that, stay tuned as we attempt to cover a sh*t-ton of incoming Comic-Con news.

Arrow returns for its third season on October 8 at 8/7 central.
