You read that headline right.

I don’t know, man. I don’t even know.
Let’s be real: Mike Tyson is one of the strangest motherf*ckers to come out of the boxing world (and by extension, the sports world). From biting off Evander Holyfield’s ear all those years ago to landing in jail for a considerable amount of time, it is definitely not off-base to say that Tyson is one polarizing and bizarre figure. On top of that, he is often times more remembered for this “eccentricity” (and that’s putting it nicely) rather than being remembered for his numerous boxing feats.

Phineas and Ferb made my day when they featured THIS on the show.
Strange as he may be, however, it makes sense that someone would eventually attempt to make a film about him, if only because they want to capture such strangeness on the silver screen.
And on that note, Screen Crush recently reported that Jamie Foxx—who is an Oscar-winner—will be playing the notorious boxer in an upcoming biopic. Foxx is not the only talented person on board the project either. Oscar-nominated writer Terence Winter (he was nominated for his writing on The Wolf of Wall Street) will reportedly be writing the script. Rick Yorn—Jamie Foxx’s manager—will also be producing the film.
Aside from the strange subject matter that is Mike Tyson, I am inclined to keep an eye on this project, as I am a big fan of Jamie Foxx and enjoyed his turn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as the unapologetically pathetic and wacky Electro (I also look forward to his appearance in Annie later this year).

I don’t think Jamie Foxx could pull it off, and I don’t see this biopic pulling a big audience into the theatres. Sounds like a train-wreck to me.

Interesting. I’m not all that hype for this project, but I like Jamie Foxx and I think he is wholly capable of nailing this. The audience thing is up in air though.

Foxx could pull off the voice, and perhaps if he buffed up a little he would share a small semblance to Tyson. But I just have a feeling he won’t be able to convince the audience that he IS Tyson. If he does, then an Oscar nomination would be imminent.

I have some faith. I don’t think a lot of people thought that he was going to pull off being Ray Charles so well, but lo and behold, he did.

Really?? Umn.No.

Lol! Understandable. The whole project–minus Foxx–gets the side-eye from me.
